Bloody Candle

Ok this is a super simple halloween decoration but creepy looking. Take a white pillar candle and drip wax from a maroon candle on the edges (use a little one--make sure it is solid colored). Once the edges are done to your liking cover the top with drips. I told you it was easy (and it is cheap).

Free Halloween Printable

Here is another easy craft for halloween. Print sign on either tan or white cardstock. You will need to cut 1/4 inch off of the top and bottom and 1/2 inch off each side to have it fit an 8 x 10 frame. Tie ribbon on the side and then close up frame.
Happy Halloween Frame *Google Documents uses low resolution to display so you will not see the black polka dots but when you go to print they are there!

Free Spooky Banner

So many times I want to do crafts and fun things for my home but I just cannot seem to find the time to do them. I am sure that I am not the only person to have this problem. I have decided to start making some easy and cute crafts. The best part they are completely free to you. All you need is a computer and a printer. Most will take about 10-15 minutes at the most.

This Halloween Banner is my first which is fitting since halloween is my most favorite holiday. I love the idea of being able to dress as anything that you want and get away with it for just one night! Be on the lookout for more in the future as I will be uploading several a month.

Now just download, print, cut out, attach together with ribbon or string and Hang. Done.

You Never Have to Buy a Zinnia Again!

Zinnia's are by far my most favorite annual. They are strikingly beautiful and long lived. I was sad this year when I went to the nursery and they were out of them. After speaking with my neighbor about how sad I was, she ran into her garage and pulled out an old grocery bag. My first thought, "thanks for the trash". She laughed at me and told me to open it up. There were dried zinnia heads in there. She told me to plant them and they might bloom. I was a skeptic but I was also desperate to have zinnias in my yard. I was surprised to have them come up. So this year do not throw out your zinnias when you are winterizing your yards. Save the spent blooms and plant them next spring after the threat of frost. Free flowers!

Operation Organization

Now that the kids are back in school, now I can organize (really it should be re-organize) my house. First order of business, the kids rooms. Over the next few weeks I will be building and constructing several different storage systems. Here is my first: Door hanging Bookshelf!

Supplies Needed:
4 - 1x4x8
2 - 1x2x8
6 - 2 inch L brackets
screws
paint
nail gun
First measure the height of your door (you need to do the full height because that is where the full supports are for hollow doors). Subtract 4 inches. Cut 2 of the 1x4x8 down to that measurement. Next measure the width of the door from doorknob to edge (or whatever width you want it). Cut down the other 1x4x8's to this length. Cut down the 1x2x8 to this length also. Next attach a top and a bottom 1x4 to the height boards. Next determine where you would like your shelfs to be placed. Nail them. Place the 1x2 about an inch above the shelf. This will be your ledger so that the things will not fall out. Attach the 3 L brackets to the top and 3 L brackets to the bottom. Paint. Attach to door. Fill and enjoy!
