YuMmY LeMoN CooKieS!

I have have this ♥ for lemon flavor but my friend, Paige, has an obsession over them. She loves anything that involves lemons. She even drinks just the juice like its nothing!! She is out of town and coming back tomorrow. To show how much she is missed I cooked up these cookies for her.


Lemon Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 T grated lemon zest
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 large egg
1 cup sour cream
2/3 lemon juice (fresh preferred)
4 cups flour

Lemon Glaze

1/2 cup granulated sugar
4 T lemon juice

Powdered sugar to top

Preheat oven to 375 degrees with rack in the middle of oven.

Mix butter, sugar, lemon zest, baking powder, paking soda, and salt. Beat in eggs, sour cream and lemon juice until well combined. Mix in flour. Drop onto cookie sheet covered with parchment.

Mix granulated sugar and lemon juice and brush on warm cookie.

Dust with powdered sugar.

Bake small cookies for 8-10 minutes. Large cookies 14-16 minutes. I love a LARGE cookie!
