I have been having some fun with creating some fun clip art that are available in my Teachers pay Teachers site. You can access my page by clicking HERE. If you are a teacher you can use them for all kinds of activities and worksheets. There are 28 clip art images, 1 background and 2 frames.
No...really...I love Photoshop. Whenever I get the chance to play I cannot resist. I love to learn new things. So my friend has this sweet little girl who is starting a little sucker business and needed a logo made. I could not wait to jump at the chance to try some new techniques. Here are the some of the designs I came up with. I am no professional but hey...they are free!
I love to make each student gets special attention when the time is right. There is no other perfect time than on their birthdays. This cute birthday chart is a cute and easy way to display those birthdays each month. If you laminate it you can re-use it over and over again. WIN-WIN! Here is the link to get the chart: Birthday Chart!

I enjoy learning about each of them and what they enjoy. I have created a simple template to get my kids to explore who they are and learn how to share information about themselves. If you would like to use this template go HERE.
I am working on becoming a teacher. Utah has a new certification program for those that already have a four year degree. I have now taken on the role of being a Teacher Assistant to some cute and adorable first graders. I can use this job to get my practical experience underway. The school I am working with has two teachers and two classes that switch. I move between the two of them. One teacher teaches math and science. The other teachers English. Then different teachers come in to teach art, technology and they go to PE. I love that I get to see the different styles of teaching from the two mentors that I have. I have been doing some research on how the math teacher can best use some dominoes in his classroom. We are currently working on number Associative Property of Addition. I made this worksheet to use with dominoes to reinforce this concept to the kids. I have it up on Teachers Pay Teachers as a freebie. You can see it HERE. Here is what it turned out like. Happy Days my friends!
If I am not on my game something will fall through. There have been times in the past that I have simply missed a meeting or activity. Then I feel that horrible. I have found that keep a constant watch on my calendar that I seem to keep things on track. I have scoured various types of daily calendars and cannot find one that fit all my basic needs. I do not need all the fluff just a time breakdown, dinner and to do. If this is something that you need help yourself to this hourly (for the week) template HERE.
Time to write some letters to the fat, jolly, old man and suck up. All the kids are hoping he forgets all the things they have done (or not done) this time of year. I am a little late getting my kids to do these this year...maybe because that I am not in the holiday spirit. Enjoy this cute letter that I put together. Get the printable {here}. Happy Holidays and may you be filled with the spirit.
Happy Summer Y'all! I have been busy with my littles and enjoying the season. I enjoy the lazy summer days and I am usually running. I have not been able to run anymore do to a hip and knee injury. They surgeon says no more running. I have been in a kind funk because of it! I have found one thing that I have enjoyed recently. I have found myself buying Alex and Ani bracelets. These bracelets are so cute. The have different meanings to each of the charms and if you know anything about me then you know I am all over things that have meaning behind them. I think it is the Native American in me.

Check how cute they are!

Seriously once you start buying them and looking at all of there meanings you will want every single one of them. I allow myself one a week. I seriously have a hard time deciding which one I will buy next!

I finally did it! I learned how to knit and crochet...I know many people know how to do it but it has been very hard for me to figure it out. You see I have a slight disadvantage...I am left handed. I have had several people try unsuccessfully to try and teach me how to do it but I could never get it since I have to do it upside down and backwards to a righty. But thanks to some YouTube videos I have been successful in learning the basics. So all you lefties out there...go over to YouTube and LEARN! Here are two baby beanies that I have made for my hubbies co-worker that had twin baby girls. Aren't these adorable. I also have a scarf and a beanie that I am knitting for myself. Carry on...

In our house everything is about Minecraft. My kids are obsessed with this game. I am not sure why they love this game but hey I am not the one having to play it. It only seems fitting they I create some sort of boy valentine (since I have three of them) that my boys would love. They were jumping up and down beside me as I was creating it. If you have littles in your house that love Minecraft also be my guest to use this for free.

When the New Year comes I cannot help but get excited for spring. My mind for some reason thinks it is just around the corner even though it can be months away. Funny how we think sometimes...I love the holidays being over. I love the excitement of a new year to start all over with goals, plans and ideas. I have committed to upping my dedication to my blog. As many know I love to make printables. I love that I can make them and provide them for free. I think they can be cute and personal. I have made my first set of Valentine printables for this year. With a few more ideas in the pipeline. I like printables that are more general because I feel you can use them for more ideas and/or treats. I made this "You are such a sweetie" with that in mind. I hope you enjoy. Get printable by clicking HERE.

I have another freebie for y'all. I have created a simple Dear Santa form letter. I did not like to waste a lot of ink doing these kinds of projects for my kiddos but I do want them to still be fun for them. This is what I came up with this year. If you would like it also click HERE. Happy Holidays!

Have you heard of Influenster.com? I know I am a little slow when it comes to technology and trends. But this site it great. You get to place you opinions and reviews for different products. I have put several different reviews in for items. When you have done this so many times you are then offered surveys to see if certain products are good for your household. I just got my first VoxBox. I got it from Suave. I love Suave products. I think they are great quality for a great price. I use many Suave products in my home already. I received a lotion, body wash and a kids mousse. Get this...they are full size items! How awesome is that. I love that they gave us full size items. Often times when you get a sample it is hard to know whether you like something because you run out of it too fast. Here is my opinion on what I got.

The Suave Naturals Sweet Pea and Violet lotion. The smell is floral but not strong. I love that this lotion makes my skin feel like lotion really moisturizes. I am a runner and running in the cold it makes my skin really dry. This lotion is yummy to my skin!

The Suave Men's Body Watch. The smell is wonderful. It is a manly smell without being too strong. It is something that my teenage boy loves.

Who knew that there was a Mousse for children? I love the smell of the Suave Kids Mousse. I would use it myself. I like that it styles without feeling heavy. My teenage daughter is enjoying this item.Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12781427478337565168noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7540286102777879595.post-47208669356919805092013-06-17T13:39:00.001-07:002013-06-17T15:19:33.514-07:00Quilting with Circles (Tutorial)

Here is the back detailing...I love the different colors of jeans. I saved up all of the old jeans from my hubby and cut them up.

First thing you will need to cut your circles. Mine were 8 inch circles. I just used a manilla folder. measured 8 inches on the fold and from center I measured 4 inches in. Cut out and got an 8 inch circle.

This is now my template to cut all my circles. My quilt is 6 blocks across and 8 blocks down. I needed 48 circles.

Next I cut my fabric. I used six different kinds of fabric. ***The fabric in these photos is purely for the tutorial photos. Not used in quilt.*** The reason I used six fabrics was to make it easy to make sure no two fabrics were next to each other. Since I had 6 blocks across...6 fabrics. You will need to cut 48 squares at 5 1/2 inches. You will also need to cut your batting at 5 1/2 inches. I used warm and natural batting. It is warm not bulky.

Now that you have to work all done the fun begins. You will first lay out your quilt. I layed all my circles with the fabric inside the circle (you will see your fabric will lay corner to circle edge) out and placed them where I wanted to them to go. I then joined the circles and and squares by making sure the circles lined up and the corners of the squares lined up.

Sew them along the edge of the square about a 1/4 inch in to catch the fabric and batting. Continue to join all the circles in each row until you reach the end (mine was six).

Imagine that my photo above has more circles. Now stack your rows on top of each other in the pattern you like. If you laid them out before hand just lay them back in the rows. Now you will join the rows where they are not together. Just pin them the same way. Edge to edge and corner to corner.

Once the quilt is attached to each other, you will need to iron down your flaps. Yes...it is important.

Next you will sew in an "S" pattern along the edges of the flaps. Start on one side and sew along the edges all the way down the length. Once at the edge, leaving your needle in the quilt re-direct your sewing to go up the other side of the same flaps. Continue until you get all the flaps sewn. First up and down. Then side to side.

Next you will sew the crosses in the squares. You will start at one corner and sew at a diagonal until you get to an edge. Then leave your needle in and re-direct your sewing across another area. Continue until you have all your crosses in the squares.

Ever see something before and know YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT? Well that is how I feel about a BlendTec Mixer. But I cannot seem to justify to my hubby the reason we should spend that kind of money on a blender. He just tells me that you can buy one for a fraction of that cost. He just does not understand. Being a runner I drink a protein drink every single day. I love them when they are icy and cold and well mixed. He doesn't drink them but my kids do and I have a recipe that tastes like an Orange Julius (recipe below) and they go nuts for it. They drink them every chance I will make one for them. I need to win one! Right now Discover Your Happy is giving one away. Go over there right now...yes leave my blog...now! And enter to win. Good Luck!

I have been a runner for quite sometime and I <strike>like</strike> <strike>love</strike> have to run with music. I often will take my little iPod for my short runs. However, on my long runs, trail runs and races I feel it necessary to carry my iPhone with me. I have tried just about every system out there to carry my iPhone. But I run into a huge problem...I am a klutz. Seriously, my parents would call me butterfingers when I was little. I have broken more phones in the history of phone devices. I have resorted to using an OtterBox. Anyone who has one has one story or another on how it has saved their phones, right? Me too. With all of the selection of arm, waist pocket contraptions to hold my phone I ALWAYS have to take the phone out of the OtterBox. Hence, my problem, I then have my precious phone exposed to me dropping it. I have recently seen a product that looks promising. It is called the Armpocket. They make it to fit all different kinds of phones and they even have one that holds an iPhone with an Otterbox case on it (listen to the heavens singing)! I <strike>want</strike> need one of these babies. Arent' the cool? And they come in different colors, of course my choice is pink the best color ever. I, however, have spent so much money on different armbands, waistbands, etc. that I am a bit nervous to buy another one. Justkeeprunning.com has solved my solution. They are giving one away. If you are a runner or an exerciser that likes to keep your phone with you check out the contest and good luck! If you win let me know what you think and if I should get myself one.

There are just somethings that stick with you from when you where young. I remember my baby sister, Kristy loving German Pancakes. I have had them in the past but my sister had a deep love for them when she was younger. My son was in a rut as to what to have for breakfast this morning. Bored with eggs, cereal, waffles and pancakes. I asked him if he wanted to try a German Pancake..."um...sure?" Was his response. I whipped up this pancake and couldn't help but go back in time when Kristy's eyes would light up seeing it done. Here's to you Kristy...
Well Happy National Running Day y'all! I love this time of year for running. The weather is wonderful not to hot or cold. All of the kids activities and events of the year are all coming to an end. The flowers and trees are waking up from their winter slumber. It is wonderful to run outside and take in all that has been given to us. I have been in training mode for my half marathons that I have signed up for during this time of year. I try to run one half marathon each month from April to October. This day is a reminder to me to remember all of the reasons that I love to run. I hope everyone gets out and runs until their hearts are full of the wonderfulness of life!

I have been living a low carb lifestyle for quite sometime. It has always been my go to when I need to lose weight but recently I have taken a permanent switch over to eating this way. For the most part it has been an easy transition but only with lots of research on recipes. I have found several places that offer great resources and recipes. I used to love to have something starchy to start the day off but with the lifestyle switch it seemed like my choices were eggs or more eggs or something that looked like a muffin but guess what it still tasted like egg! I stumble upon a great site for recipes but she also has a passion for what she does. She goes further and explains why you should or should not be eating something. Her name is Maria Emmerich and her site is here. I love that she has many options for those starchy foods that we crave so much but they are low carb and healthy for you.

For instance, these cinnamon rolls. They are delicious and I do not feel guilty eating them. Click here for the recipe. And while you are there look around her site, she has great recipes and information.Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12781427478337565168noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7540286102777879595.post-55733025276690528422013-05-24T13:47:00.003-07:002013-06-17T15:21:06.924-07:00Love to Run

Anyone who knows me that my preferred exercise is running. I have always been a casual runner. It was not until 4 years ago that I took it to a whole other level. I decided to embark on running a half marathon. And when I mean decide I literally decided when I was in the middle of a 6 mile run to see how far I could go. To my surprise I could run 10 miles and still could have gone further but since it was midnight I figured I had better be finished for the night. I then signed up to run the SLC Half Marathon and have never looked back. I have since run over 15 races and it never gets old. I have had many ups and downs with running but still love the thrill of completing the races brings! And the bling doesn't hurt...I kind of love getting medals! I have tried many products in my journey of running. I have loved some and have hated some. I would love to win me some of these headphones that have been featured on Running Diva Mom. I was watching the video on these incredible headphones and think they sound amazing. I have had a struggle finding the right headphones...I have tried the standard earbuds that come with the iphone/shuffle...hated them. They kept falling out. I have tried the Ironman Yurbuds...still to this day cannot figure out the twist and stay motion to get them snug in my ear. I have used numerous earbuds such as Ifrogz. I found the only ones that have worked for me since I have them in for a longtime are the Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones. They have a neckband that hold them in place. This Jaybird Headphones have a band to hold them in place as well as are bluetooth that makes them wireless. I think I am in love. If you are interested in checking these headphones click HERE.
